Thanksgiving is quickly approaching therefore there will no doubt be family gatherings, endless amounts of delicious food, thankful hearts and a lot of quality time spent with family. One of my favorite things to do with my children is to read to them. These Thanksgiving books for kids are some of my personal favorites. I love having a wide variety of holiday books to read throughout the year. Let's dive in to some of mine and my kiddos favorites!

1. How to Catch a Turkey

The old lady is at it again, and this time she’s swallowing a Turkey. There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey is such a joy to read. This series is always a hit with my boys. Add it to your Thanksgiving book shelf.

You can't go wrong with a Charlie Brown book of any nature. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a story of friendship when Peppermint Patty invites herself (and most of her friends) to Charlie Brown’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Charlie Brown reluctantly agrees to make a holiday feast even though he can barely make toast and cold cereal!

This humorous book The Crayons Give Thanks, shows that there are so many things to be thankful for, everywhere we look! A great gift for Thanksgiving—or for any day you feel grateful.

This hysterical read-aloud, Twas The Night Before Thanksgiving is another favorite in my house. The story is cute, playful and has a fun rhyming story. It also has a great message of compassion and empathy for animals. Another winner!

Gratitude is my Superpower will teach your little ones to appreciate the warmth of home, time spent playing with friends, and family relationships. They will focus on the blessings they receive every day, begin to appreciate what others do for them and will feel true happiness when they realize that they have everything they need. Great book to add to your bookcase!
